Life jacket loaner stations

The Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund constructed and manages several life jacket loaner stations located at lakes and rivers in our department and is aimed at water safety in our area. The loaner stations are located at Lake Sammamish State Park beaches and the boat launch. In addition, a new station was constructed recently at Rattlesnake Lake in the North Bend area. People using the lake or river can check out a life jacket for free for use during the day and then return them to the station when they are done.
An organization called the Paris White Foundation has donated all the life jackets for the stations. We have also received a grant from Children’s Hospital to help pay for the signs. Each station has 12 jackets of various sizes infant to adult.
This program provides life jackets to people that may not be able to afford one and provides them the extra level of safety during their water activities.
We do accept donations of new life jackets for this program. If you would like to donate or participate in this program please contact Director Ryan Hendricks

Young girl raises $800 for life jacket station materials.

Eastside Firefighters Benevolent Fund President Dave McDaniel accepting an $800 donation from Pearl Hendricks for the life jacket loaner station program. Pearl raised the money on her own through presentations to community groups about the program. Pearl is the daughter of Eastside Fire Lieutenant and Benevolent Fund Director Ryan Hendricks and his wife Heidi Hendricks pictured. The money will go towards material for more loaner stations at area waterways and to purchase more new life jackets.
